This museum introduces the history and culture of Kyoto. 12-Minute Walk from RESI STAY Anekoji
The castle was built in 1603 by Ieyasu Tokugawa, the first shogun of the Edo Shogunate. It is registered as a World Heritage site and is famous for being the setting for the Taisei Hokan(return of political power to the Emperor). The castle is also famous for being the remains of the Momoyama culture, including the Ninomaru Palace, Karamon gate, and garden, which are designated as national treasures, can be seen.
