Shinshinen

Spend quality time in one of Kyoto's largest townhouses

Shinshin-en, a townhouse famous in Nishijin, is a 160-year-old traditional building. Once inside, you will feel as if you have stepped back in time, as the interior design retains the atmosphere of the Edo period.
The street garden and back garden, which are the symbols of machiya houses, and the tsuboniwa garden with Kibune stones imported from the Kibune Shrine are as beautiful as a painting.
The guest rooms, including a 12-tatami-mat Shoin-style living room on the first floor, three bedrooms and two bathrooms, can accommodate up to nine guests. Please relax and enjoy the rich greenery and tranquility of the machiya.
